In light of the uncertainty relating to COVID-19 restrictions and lockdowns, the Waste Management and Resource Recovery Association of Australia (WMRR) has moved its 2021 Energy from Waste (EfW) Conference from 17–18 August to November 2021 (exact dates to be confirmed).

The event organisers want to ensure that those in the waste and resource recovery industry remain COVIDSafe and have the best chance of coming together in person later in the year to discuss EfW. The conference is planned to be held in Melbourne over two days, with further details regarding the conference venue and dates to be announced soon.

Conference planning will continue, to ensure a strong and insightful program that will span thermal and non-thermal EfW technologies, uncover the regulatory landscape across Australia, as well as deep dive into planning and development, stakeholder engagement, and technology and innovation — the factors that are significant as proponents move forward in their EfW journey and more projects start to come online across Australia.
