MTX celebrates national award for Modular Construction Excellence
Wilmslow-based MMC healthcare building specialist, MTX, is celebrating triumph at the national Offsite Awards, winning Healthcare Project of the Year.
The accolade was awarded for MTX’s Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital three-storey ward development, which reached completion in 2020.
The state-of-the-art 4,300 sq m project condensed what is typically a three-year project into just one through the use of modern methods of construction. The speed of delivery for the build also allowed Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital to play a more influential role in the wider NHS strategy, as the Nightingale Hospital for the region.
David Hartley, Managing Director at MTX, said: “The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital project was conducted during the most demanding period the NHS had ever faced, yet the MTX team worked tirelessly to deliver the project on time, to the highest possible standard and with minimal disruption.
“I’m incredibly proud of the team, not just for this project, but for the work they have done throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, supporting a very stretched NHS at a time of need. This award is testament to their commitment, particularly when up against some very stiff competition.”
The project was commended by the judges for its ‘impressive reduction in programme time to create a solid looking building’.
