Emma Link is an Industry Analyst at CITB.
Emma has worked at CITB for 17 years in a variety of roles and has been in the research team for 12 years.
During this time as well as managing numerous projects examining construction skills and employment needs Emma completed both a post graduate diploma in business management and the Market Research Societies Advanced Certificate in Market and Social Research.
Emma has been leading on CITB’s recently published Building Skills for Net-Zero research and subsequent Net Zero and Construction Perspectives and Pathways.
Darren Keefe, Extreme Makeover USA
Known as the Carpenter, Designer, and one of three Co-Hosts on HGTV’s Extreme Makeover: Home Edition, Irish born Carpenter, Darren Keefe, is a skilled tradesman and furniture maker. Darren is known on Instagram as ‘The Dancing Carpenter’, Keefe’s weekly Monday posts have garnered over 20 million views; his focus is spreading kindness and humor through design and every day DIY.
Emma Nicholson, B.A, MSc, FCIOB, FIEMA, FWES, CEnv, FAPM, is the Founding Director of Women in Sustainable Construction and Property Group Linkedin.
Emma is an accomplished and skilled Chartered Construction Manager and Chartered Environmentalist with Board level experience. She is passionate about achieving quality projects and was nominated in 2018 for an Excellence Award in quality of project delivery of Leeds Art Gallery and Leeds Library roof restoration.

Amie Shuttleworth, Cambridge University Research & Director of Shuttleworth Waite
Amie is the founder and Director of her own consultancy – Shuttleworth Waite Limited, and has delivered projects for the likes of Hong Kong International Airport.
She is also a Research Student at Cambridge University.
Amie has 15 years of industry experience in both contracting (Sir Robert McAlpine Ltd) and consulting (Cundall). Her research interests lie in how Net Zero Carbon and adaptation concepts can be applied in decision making associated with the built environment system.
Her previous research has been in the field of embodied impacts of materials within buildings, with a focus of the use of technology such as BIM to enable the integration of information for decision making.
The intention of Amie’s PhD research is to understand how the building sector can create a meaningful balance between climate mitigation and climate change adaptation. The aim is to improve the ability of investors, developers, engineers and other key decision-makers to deliver projects that address both mitigation and adaptation aspects. This research could also contribute to our overall understanding of how to better integrate sustainability decisions within the complex real estate sector.
Brian Brogen, Trainer. Coach, Speaker and Host of The Build Your Success Podcast
Brian Brogen has spent his career developing teams to execute successful projects throughout the South-eastern United States. Brian is now using his experience to equip and empower companies to improve communication and productivity. He uses signature training workshops and behavior-based programs to reduce workplace conflict, reduce employee turnover and create a collaborative culture to thrive in.
Gilbert Lennnox-King, Co-Founder of Construction Carbon grew up in New Zealand and has spent most of his career delivering ongoing energy management programmes and solutions across Asia, Europe, and the UK.
More recently Gilbert has been heading up business development for sustainability focused property technology companies. He was involved with over 4 million sq metres of energy reduction programmes for multinational clients including JP Morgan, HSBC and Intercontinental with his previous company, Energenz. He co-founded Energenz in 2010, growing it to become one of Asia’s leading energy efficiency consultancies before it was acquired by NV5 Global in 2017.
Gilbert completed a Bachelor of Commerce at the University of Auckland and a postgraduate certificate in Applied Finance from the Securities Institute of Australia.
Gilbert currently works for a leading commercial property developer, HB Reavis.
